Al-Futtaim Toyota Launches New hybrid Corolla Cross and Camry 2021

Is electric the new normal for drivers? Or do we still want to hold onto that raw petrol power we all love? There is a third way - the hybrid. And this year, Toyota has two new hybrid electric vehicles to tempt customers in the UAE.
Building on decades of research, a reputation for both innovation and excellence, and a loyal customer base, Toyota has extended its range to incorporate hybrid vehicles that tick all the right boxes for economy, power, and driver experience. Both are names that will be familiar to Toyota drivers, but with plenty of new features that bring much more to the table than ever before.
The Corolla Cross
Can SUVs be friendly to the planet? Toyota thinks that they can, and has developed an SUV with green credentials. The Corolla Cross is an SUV hybrid that is capable of tackling both on and off-road terrain with equal flair and style. Building from a TNGA platform (GA-C) that ensures a smooth, comfortable and quiet ride, the Cross has that enviable combination of SUV ruggedness and urban refinement. It’s bold, sophisticated, and packed full of features that are guaranteed to please even the most demanding of drivers and passengers.
Driving this instantly recognisable SUV is a combination of two power sources. The 1.8-Litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine produces 97hp and a peak torque of 142Nm. Alongside this punchy petrol engine are two electric motors that generate 71hp and 163Nm of torque, with a combined power of 122hp. The system is linked up to an Electrically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT). All of that gives you exceptional economy of 23.7km/L.
Drivers use vehicles in different ways depending on the terrain. To allow a variety of driving styles, you can choose between ECO, NORMAL, and SPORT modes for around town, normal road driving, and when you want to tackle the twisting mountain roads. In addition, an independent EV Mode can be combined with any of these three driving modes, for a silent and emission-free driving experience around town or on the daily commute through the city.
Inside, the Corolla Cross has a familiar feel, but with added refinement that elevates it to a new level. There’s plenty of room in the cabin, with an exceptional infotainment centre console complete with an 8” multimedia display integrated with Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM . Outside, there are 17” alloy wheels to give the Corolla a touch of bling, and a choice of seven colourways. The Toyota Camry hybrid
The Camry has been a Toyota flagship model for decades. Camry owners are loyal to the model, which has proven to be versatile, reliable, and extremely driver-friendly. However, with the new Camry Hybrid, Toyota has elevated this iconic model for a greener market, providing it with all the sporty performance and power you expect from a Camry, but with better fuel economy.
Under the bonnet is the new TNGA 2.5-Litre four-cylinder Dynamic Force engine, pushing out a sporty 204hp and 243Nm of torque. That is teamed up with an eight-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission for super-smooth power delivery. Alternatively, a 3.5-Litre V6 engine with D-4S fuel injection system is an upgrade that any driver would love. This top of the range option produces 298hp and 356Nm of torque with an eight-speed automatic transmission. To give this Hybrid its moniker is an electrified hybrid system, there are two electric motors (one for each model), producing 176hp and 118hp, and 221Nm and 202Mm of torque respectively. The combined power of the two power sources is 215hp. It is also paired with an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT) that simulates a six-speed sequential-shift transmission. That translates into a whole lot of driving pleasure whether you’re in petrol or electric mode.
New design flourishes for the 2021 model Camry Hybrid include 18” alloy wheels and a two-tone colour scheme for the V6 model. Inside there are a range of elegant and subtle colourways for the 2.5-Litre model, or a bold red option for V6 owners.
